Emily is a member of the Private Client Department and provides assistance to our lawyers in matters related to such as Wills, Trusts, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship Orders. Her work includes drafting legal documents, liaising with clients and business contacts, conducting research on points of law, and generally progressing files under supervision.
Prior to joining Cartmell & Co, Emily gained experience at a Legal 500 firm based in Oxford and at a smaller local firm, working in the legal sector for over 3 years, and specifically in Private Client for 2 years.
Emily is particularly confident in drafting Wills, preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney, dealing with estate administration and applying to the Court of Protection for Deputyship Orders.
In addition to her experience in Private Client, Emily has provided assistance in a number of Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence matters in the past.
Emily has recently commenced her studies in law with the view to qualifying as a Chartered Legal Executive, specialising in Private Client.
